This policy explains how Parlance uses cookies and similar technologies on our website at parlancelabs.net and across the Parlance platform. It should be read alongside our privacy policy, which explains how we handle personal data more generally.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to remember your preferences, and to provide information to the site owner. We also use similar technologies such as local storage, which serve comparable purposes. In this policy we refer to all of these as “cookies”.

Essential cookies

Essential cookies are necessary for the service to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually set in response to actions you take, such as signing in, setting your privacy preferences, or filling in forms. We use essential cookies to authenticate you and keep you securely signed in to your session, provided through Supabase, our authentication provider. Without these cookies, the service cannot be provided.

Analytics cookies — only with your consent

We use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used so that we can improve it. Google Analytics sets cookies (such as _ga and _ga_*), so it loads only after you choose “Allow analytics”in the consent banner — until then, nothing is loaded and no analytics request leaves the page. Declining changes nothing about how the site works. Your choice itself is stored in your browser’s local storage (a strictly necessary preference), and you can change or withdraw it at any time via “Cookie settings” in the footer, which simply brings the banner back. Analytics data is processed by Google; see our privacy policy’s sub-processors and international transfers sections.

Managing cookies

You can manage cookies at any time. Most web browsers let you view, delete and block cookies through their settings, and you can usually set your browser to warn you before a cookie is stored. Please note that blocking essential cookies may stop parts of the service from working. If and when we introduce cookies that rely on your consent, you will be able to withdraw or change that consent through controls we provide. Changes

We may update this cookie policy from time to time to reflect changes to the technologies we use or to legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the “last updated” date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
